The plan
Surprise proposal photography in Lincoln starts at $250. I'm Macoy Wollenburg — I scout your spot ahead of time, send you a pinned location so you know exactly where to stand, stay out of sight with a long lens for the moment, then walk up and shoot a short portrait session while you're both still glowing.
New this year, and I'd rather say so than stage one: the portraits after the yes look like my senior and creative work, same camera, same retouching. The first real proposal frames land on this page in September.
The spots
Terraced flower beds, low walls to kneel by, and soft evening light. The classic for a reason.
Open water at sunset and long sight lines, so staying hidden with a long lens is easy.
Brick, string lights, and somewhere to celebrate within a block of the moment.
Prairie grass and golden-hour light, with quiet corners even on busy weekends.
Wooded trails and the bridge, if you two are more woods than gardens.
The observation tower and river views, about 30 minutes from Lincoln. Worth the drive.

No. I scout the spot ahead of time, position 30 to 50 yards out with a telephoto lens, and look like anyone else at the park. Your partner finds out a photographer exists when I walk up after the yes.
A sneak peek of the moment within a day or two, and the full edited gallery within about a week — fast enough to announce with your own photos.
You reschedule, no charge. A proposal deserves the right evening, and the backup-date conversation happens up front.
